New Federal Battery Rebate (Cheaper Home Batteries Program)

Starting from 1 July 2025, eligible households and small businesses may receive approximately a 30% discount on the upfront cost of a solar battery system.

Details include:

  • ✅ Rebate Amount: $325 to $370 per usable kilowatt-hour (kWh).

    ✅ Maximum Rebate: Up to 50 kWh or up to $18,500.

    ✅ How It’s Applied: As an upfront discount through Energy Efficient.

    ✅ Discount Based on Capacity: The higher the usable battery capacity, the larger the discount.

    ✅ Program Duration: The discount decreases gradually between 2025 and 2030.
